Schwaben - A New World of Engineering

Projects

Face-lift for the new vehicle product line

In partnership with the Product Development Department of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, Schwaben Engineering developed the face-lift for the new light, medium and heavy trucks product line produced in Brazil.
It was a challenge to synchronize the development of the new look with the launch of the BlueTec5 technology, in order to comply with the Brazilian legal obligation PROCONVE P-7.

To master this task, we deployed the experience of our competence center in internal and external trim, supported by the different engineering solutions of our technical departments.

More than 300 components have been developed with precision and quality, from design definition on to the start of production. The work included the conception, component and system development, project and quality management, numerical simulation and validation, as well as the supervision of prototyping and tests.

This example proves the successful partnership between Schwaben Engineering and Mercedes-Benz do Brasil.

Reverse engineering – for the new ATRON

In partnership with the Product Development Department of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, Schwaben Engineering developed the face-lift for the new heavy trucks product line produced in Brazil.

As results of reverse engineering techniques and procedures, were developed components of high precision and quality for the external trim of the new ATRON.

To facilitate this task, Schwaben Engineering used optical 3D scanning technologies. Relying on reverse engineering techniques and procedures, it was possible to develop components of high precision and quality for the external trim of the new ATRON.

Transformation of AXOR 6×4 into 8×4

In cooperation with Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and the Multieixos company, Schwaben Engineering implemented a second steering axle in AXOR 6×4, transforming the truck into an 8×4 vehicle.

This task was mastered given to our experience in the competence center for special vehicles, facilitated by our departments for product development and numerical simulation.

Our cooperation resulted in a robust and reliable project.

Mercedes-Benz Military Implement (ATEGO)

Schwaben Engineering developed, in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and the Rossetti company, a special implement for Atego.

To cope with this challenge we used the expertise of our competence center for special vehicles, supported by the departments for product development and numerical simulation.

The cooperation facilitated the full compliance with the standards requested by the Brazilian Military, resulting in a project both safe and reliable, and a success in sales.

Suspension optimization

In partnership with HBZ, Schwaben Engineering and its teams for numerical simulation and product development optimized the suspension systems.

The cooperation and synergies between the teams added value to the product and were beneficial for the customer.
